Fort Myers is the historical and governmental hub of Lee County. It is also home to two primary tourist attractions in the region.



Fort Myers Downtown Commercial District: Downtown Fort Myers is a waterfront U.S. historic and entertainment district. It contains over 60 historical buildings.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates: The Winter Estates serve as both a historical museum and botanical garden. The buildings served as vacation homes for Thomas Alva Edison and Henry Ford. Edison’s botanical gardens contain more than a thousand varieties of plants from around the world.

City of Palms Park: The Park is primarily used for baseball, however it has been known to, on occasion, serve as a venue for concerts.  From 1993 to 2011 it was the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox.



Edison Mall: The Edison Mall in Fort Myers is an enclosed, super-regional shopping mall that contains over 160 stores and large variety of restaurants within the food court.

Bell Tower Shops: Surrounded by beautiful fountains and lush landscapes, the Bell Tower Shops are a premiere destination for an exclusive shopping, dining, and entertainment experience. The Shops also a monthly “Yappy Hour” in conjunction with Gulf Coast Humane society, allowing you to meet adoptable dogs, enjoy live music, and shop and lounge with your new furry friend.

Gulf Coast Town Center: An outdoor shopping center in Fort Myers, the Gulf Coast Town Center offers a plethora of shops and restaurants from A to Z. They constantly hold different events throughout the month.


Lee Memorial Health System: Lee Memorial Health System is a state of the art healthcare system throughout Lee County, including the Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.



Art Walk: On the first Friday of every month the city of Fort Myers holds Art Walk in the downtown river district; a self-guided tour of participating downtown Art Galleries and Businesses.

Music Walk: Every third Friday of the month, Music Walk is held in the downtown river district. The streets fill with music and restaurants, bars, art galleries and shops participate and showcase a wide range of music.

Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall: Barbara B. Mann hosts a variety of shows from symphonies to stand-up comedy.  


Florida Golf Coast University: Created to compensate education needs for Southwest Florida’s ever growing population, FGCU is an outstanding, technology friendly campus.
